The CDC's priority list and the ATA's push to classify drivers as critical infrastructure workers.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently rolled out a priority list for the COVID-19 vaccine. Authorities advised that health care workers and residents of long-term care facilities, truck drivers, and other workers in critical and essential jobs could also be included in the list. Many leading pharmaceutical companies have started working with large transportation firms to deliver the vaccines.

Distribution of the vaccine, dubbed Operation Warp Speed, could commence as early as mid-December. Around 40 million doses could be delivered by the end of the year. In lieu of this, the American Trucking Association has reached out to government officials to ensure truck drivers are considered critical infrastructure workers.
